This month, three PEB members successfully defended their MSc projects - and all three did an excellent job at it.
Maya Schrödl studied the colonization and diversification history of Madagascan palms with new phylogenomic evidence from the genus Orania (Arecaceae) [read here].
Emil Muff Munk's thesis focuses on the importance of biome definition for quantifying plant species richness and phylogenetic composition in tropical rainforests.
Alexander Venzel Rudbeck produced a map of phylogenetic knowledge: spatial barriers and bias in the Darwinian shortfall.
Warm thanks to Maya, Emil and Alexander for their contributions to the scientific and social life of PEB over the past year. We are sad to say goodbye to them, but we will keep in touch as we prepare their thesis work for publication.
