We are looking for a motivated student with an MSc or similar qualifications to start a 3-year PhD stipend between 1 August and 1 November 2020.
The position will be part of our research programme on tropical rainforest hyperdiversity, and more specifically the TropiToL project (Explaining the biological hyperdiversity of tropical rainforests using the Tree of Life) funded by VILLUM fonden.
The overarching question guiding this project is: What circumstances have led to the accumulation of exceptional biodiversity in tropical rainforests, making them the most species-rich terrestrial ecosystems on Earth?
The successful candidate will develop an in-depth understanding of biodiversity theory, and learn and work with a range of advanced quantitative methods, including methods with real-world application outside academia, such as GIS and programming/bioinformatics.
